'11 Trek Speed Concept 7.0

Trek's Speed Concept 7.0 takes your speed to a new level with their wind-cheating Kammtail frame shaping that makes you faster, even in cross winds. Trek also tucks the rear brake, wheel quick releases, cables and the computer sensor away from the wind for even more free speed. And, you'll love the precision SRAM Apex components with a compact crank for easier climbing and bar-end controls so you can stay in an aero tuck. Plus, this road rocket boasts aero Bontrager SSR wheels and a fine Bontrager aero bar and stem. Get ready to fly!

Comments:

I got this as a present and boy was it amazing. Took it out on the road straight from the dealer and it ran great. The price does take me out of my comfort zone, but so did the speed, it was a great feeling, the bike handle well, if a bit too well when tucked into the aero position, very sensitive. Sturdy enough to handle rough roads, yet light enough to climb hills. I can (and have) take this bike out for training and then immediately go straight into an event without having to tediously change out parts, great stuff.

Great bike, but the noise coming from inside the frame is simply horrible. I can hear the noise even when I have my earplugs in and music on. Very dissappointing for an expensive bike

This is a great bike for the price. You get an awesome frame, with ok components and wheels that I will change in the future, but for the meantime they work fine. The bike handles really well, it's very fast with amazing aerodynamics. Cool design and paint job. I recommend this product.

    Comments:

This is a wonderful bike. This is the lowest model of the series. Therefore you get an amazing frame with okay components and poor wheels. MAKE SURE to replace the seat binder (if you're riding a 2011 model). My seat would constantly be sliding down. Make sure to get the revised binder. This piece can fly. It's lightweight and very comfortable. The bike is attractive and very aerodynamic. I can sit on my bike for hours and be completely comfortable. If you're thinking about buying a tri-bike for the first time. Get this one.

I use my Speed Concept 7.0 TCT Tri Bike for training and competition. Beautiful design and colors (Black/Charcoal). Very light and fast. Shifts perfectly with very durable components. I can't think of anything negative about this bike.

    Comments:

I bought this bike for triathlon in the spring of 2010. I race sprints to Ironman distance triathlons. This bike has been great since I got the shifting issue figured out. Initially I was having severe problems keeping mainly the rear derailleur in tune. I was adjusting it after every shift and had a bad time in hilly areas where shifting was important. At one point the front derailleur dropped the chain as I was climbing causing me to almost wreck! Initially I was assured this was just a "cable break-in" issue. However after much frustratin and multiple cable replacement/adjustments. It was brought to my attention that the cable routing bracket under the bottom bracket was not secure. I found the allen bolts were too small to tighten sufficiently to hold this in place and was getting some play each time I shifted causing it to misalign. After the mechanic put larger head allen bolts on and was able to adequately tighten and stabalize this piece it has been fine. I have since completed a hilly Ironman and had no issues. This has been a great bike since the shifting issue has been corrected and am now glad I made this purchase!

    Comments:

I saw this bike a few weeks ago and liked the weight and the feel. I did a little research about it reading all reviews good and bad. After enough research was completed I decided go ahead and buy one. I only have one 20 mile ride since I bought it and the difference between this bike and my old bike was like night and day. It feels like it almost pedals itself. When I push a little harder an immediate result is felt. The balance feels good and the way the handlebars are set it's pretty easy to get into a rhythm. Gear changes are prefect and you barely feel the gears actually switching. I would honestly buy this bike again. This bike is freaking awesome! Thanks for a well made product.

    Comments:

Great bike as far as the geometry and how it handles but I am having trouble with the SRAM rear and front derauilers. I have adjusted them a few times but I still will get the gears not quite lined up and/or rubbing and making a noise. I also hear a chatter coming from the frontal area of either the forks or head tube along rough roads. These nosies and gearing troubles sure take away from a nice ride!
