Be sure to learn how to change the gears! Left hand is for front (large) derailleur. Left: half click uses the large disc derailleur. FULL click on left side is to change to the smaller front derailleur disc. Right hand is for rear (9 small) derailleur. Right: Half click brings the gear up. Full click brings it down in front (makes pedaling easier).Clicking for gear change depending of left or right side- always means towards the bike. I had a hard time adjusting to the SRAM's at first but now love it once I got use to it! It's as easy as a "tap" or "tap-tap", or the word "click". Also, this bike is intended for clip in shoes. You get more out of your work out! This is what the bike is built for! Very quick and responsive! Not to mention, lightweight at 19 pounds! I do not have a bike rack or SUV but after taking the front wheel off, the bike fits perfectly in my 2 door coupe! My LBS went above and beyond for my service(s). Fitting and refitting to make sure the bike was appropriate for my size (4'11"). You won't regret this bike! Good luck! Happy, safe & smart cycling!
