With Bontrager's LT3 tire, you'll get the best of both worlds. The aggressive side knobs bite into the dirt, while the connected center tread rolls fast on pavement. It can be used either as a front or a rear tire for great traction anywhere. It's also great for touring.
I have a Bianchi Boardwalk that needed new tires. The Ritchey Cross-Bite that came with the bike was no longer available. The Bontrager LT3 700x38c tread was a very nice substitute. However, this tire offers very little protection against punctures. I felt the need to enhance the tire's protection against punctures with a RhinoDillos tire liner. This only added about $6 to cost of each tire; still cheaper than the Bontrager LT2 700x38c tire.
