Shimano's PD-A530 Pedals are versatile Jekyll and Hyde pedals that are great on any bike. One side is flat so you can do quick rides with any shoes, and the other is SPD compatible for longer rides and efficient pedaling. Of course, they feature the durable, all-weather sealed cartridge bearings and the adjustable entry and release tension settings that Shimano is famous for.
this is the first SPD pedals I used! I bought it in Iran! I found it efficient! It's possible to use so easy both with and without cleat!it has a flat side which is wide enough! I do bicycle touring and alwase have tow shoes, cleatless one for the falt side and a shoes with cleat for the other side! it has a good washer around ball bearing which protect it against dust and give it long life!

I love these pedals because there are times I simply want to hop on my bike and go to the grocery store or library without putting on biking shoes. Then, for those times when I want to go for a longer ride I clip in with my biking shoes and go. The only down side is that it sometimes takes a little longer to make the connection between the pedal and the shoe.
