Let's get the negative out of the way.... it costs more than the average trunk-mounted bike rack out there. However...you get what you pay for. This rack has features such as clean aesthetics. You won't mind leaving it on your car if you have to, in a pinch.
The lock-to-car feature is a great feature, especially considering the amount of money you pay for it. The lock-to-bike feature is also a goof deterrent for temporary stops with the bike mounted.
This is a solid rack that I would recommend to anyone. Just be sure to clean the contact areas on you trunk to avoid the chance of scratching the paint. I have not had any issue with this but just practical and cautionary tip, for any trunk mount device.

I can't say it's durable, only because I just bought it and I've only used it once. But it looks plenty durable to me. The only con is that the locks can be a little tricky. Just "wiggle" a little on the cable-tightening knobs when it's hard to lock or unlock. This is my first car rack, so I honestly have nothing to compare to. However, as I was shopping for a rack, I could see a huge difference between other racks and this one. I bought the Raceway 2 for several reasons. No nylon straps to fuss with, tighten, abrade the paint on my car, fray, vibrate in the wind, or contain the "tails." The rack's contact patches are large enough to prevent denting but no larger than necessary (less contact that can cause abrasion damage). Of course you have to remove the bikes to open the trunk, but the rack, itself, can stay on the trunk. It's wonderfully self-contained and easy to fold & store, and no straps to lose or tangle. I like that it locks to the car, so I know it'll be there when we get back from a ride. I like that the outer bike can be locked so I can leave it in a parking lot without worrying. There's so much that's ingenious about this rack. If you can scrape up the extra funds to buy this rack instead of a cheaper one, do it. I believe I'll always be glad I spent the extra money to buy this rack.
