"Old-school" often depends upon your perspective of what "old" really means. If you limit yourself to recent history, Budweiser - founded in 1876 - is pretty old-school. But it's a just pup compared to Tripel Karmeliet, which was first brewed in 1679.
The recipe originated from the Carmelite Monastery in Dendermonde, Belgium and specified three types of grain: wheat, oats and barley. Bosteels Brewery, located in Buggenhout, Belgium, thoroughly tested the recipe in the 1990s and found that the essentials of the ancient mix remained the same: wheat, oats and barley. Since then, Tripel Karmeliet has won gold medals at the World Beer Cup (1998), the World Beer Championships (1998), European Beer Star (2005) and a "World's Best Ale" honor at the 2008 World Beer Awards.
Vermarc Brouwerji jerseys are made with the same exacting precision as those worn by Pro Teams like Quick Step, Omega Pharma-Lotto and AG2R. They're a form-fit cut, so if you're not into tight-fitting jerseys, go up one size.
